Modelcarparts
Re: Modelcarparts
Hi,
I must say that the DAF is not repainted because of it´s quit good condition I just wanted to complete the model with the sparepart.
Only the Tippax received new paint.
Thanks for the info regarding the roof - the replacement part could be moved nearly 1 mm in each direction.

Thanks Johnboyjohnboy wrote:That's pristine! lovely job.
Here is another one.
The door is a sparepart but not the best because it is a bit to small.
The model is painted like shown on the original box.
Does anybody have an idea why Lesney printed the models on the boxes sometimes in other colors than the models inside?

We had a very long thread on this subject on Lefora.Malibu wrote:Does anybody have an idea why Lesney printed the models on the boxes sometimes in other colors than the models inside?
The conclusion was that the box art shows the model sent to the artist which, because of the lead time on box production, would have needed to be a pre-production. Sometimes the model was released in the pre-production colour scheme, sometimes it wasn’t. If the decision to change the model’s specification was made after the first run of boxes had been printed, the result was box art which didn’t match the model inside.
In many cases (I would be tempted to say most cases), pre-productions in the unissued first issue box colour scheme have been shown on this Forum and on Lefora.
Re: Modelcarparts
Same here - Motorway box with yellow Ferrari, red Iso Grifo and blue 230 SL. I´m thinking of restoring these cars to this color sheme, as i got a nice Motorway set now and want have the models like on the box.
I love that green/silver version, it looks very realistic as those dark green colors have been very common for this time period.
