71c with type 1 base and therefore also, potentially, amber windows?

Absolutely correct - the model is the 71C with amber windows. Despite the awful condition it has the bed corners without the reinforcing braces which as I understand it can be harder to find. Given the condition at some stage I might try a repaint on this one as it only cost £1 (5 models for £5)

Hopefully back on track with some more models in better condition
1 Mercedes Truck with zig zag base and short tow guide and remains of a box
2 Ford Pickup without the letter 'A' on the base with the remains of a box - a duplicate model but nice to have another
3 Dodge Crane and repro box - thin wheels & painted rivet/crane inside - another duplicate model but too hard to resist!
4 Mercedes Truck with zig zag base and no tow guide
5 Foamite Fire truck with plastic accessories on sprue and early base

Very good set of models and I agree with you about obtaining duplicates as you never know if a variation exists until you have a couple side by side.
Thin wheel Dodge crane is a difficult one to find as the wheels rarely show up in ebay pictures.

For a bit of variety as well as buying the Regular Wheel models I have been getting a few Yesteryears - I tend to have a preference for the 2 seater models with the brass metal wheels and the thin tyres. The yesteryears are just common versions but I have been trying to restrict my buying to the better condition ones

Latest purchases
0 Yesteryear Opel coupe Y4 - a duplicate but at 99p for a boxed model I couldn't resist!
00 Yesteryear Cadillac 1913 Y6 - windscreen tab model with seat cut-outs - I just love the colour and styling of this model
1 Fire pumper 29 with box - earlier body style with recessed door panel but without decal and fitted with later tow guide base
2 Fire pumper 29 - later body with raised door panel and fitted with earlier base without tow guide
3 Berkeley Caravan 23a - I was looking for RW boxes when I found this one - the interior is minus the central brace found on later versions - I think it should be fairly obvious why I bought this one
Happy Collecting
