Thanks, Jason. As Hugh says, this is a strange modification as it's so difficult to do. I wonder if a new base mould had to be made?

An additional model I am aware of is the Yesteryear Y-10 1906 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost which had exactly the same re-tooling on the axle housings. Totally smooth un-braced casting, then two braces and then four braces.

Found the picture so added it here. Model left has the extra casting on the axle-housing while model right is smooth.
