Great history lesson Kev, but what about the wonderful Droop Snoot Firenza and the Sports hatch estate and then we go into the awesome 2300 HS Chevette

In answer to the comment from "Ritchie", I do expect a small scale Rolls-Royce from 'OXFORD', it seems a shame having gone to the trouble of getting your license to make models of the 'Best Car in the World', just to make the Bentley version, so fingers crossed and as soon as I know details I will post here (among the Vauxhall Firenza museum... ).

In answer to the comment from "Fixer", I did say... "the Firenza name was revived on a new really fast sports coupe, that is outside the scope of this article for now, but maybe I will come back to that one later", so I had not forgotten them, just think they should be handled separately... :D

Some very interesting information there, and I must admit that this is probably my most eagerly anticipated new release at the moment. I'm not sure that it should be in the UK-made section though!

I'd never noticed the subtle change made to the front wings before. I wouldn't complain if Oxford made a Magnum with the same casting. I hope that they also make the basic Firenza with rectangular headlights. Not to be mixed up with the South African 302 V8 Firenza which also had those rectangular headlights.

When it comes to the South African 302 V8 Firenza, rectangular headlamps were used on the car featured on the official launch brochure, but in terms of production cars, many had the twin round headlamps installation.

I have not been a member of the 'Droop Snoot Group' for many Years now, so can not check the actual numbers, but the very few that exist in the UK (or Europe in general), have the round headlamps.

If forum members want more on these old Vauxhall cars, I can create a separate thread for you, so this remains 'OXFORD DIECAST' comments.
