Kurt

I have had a closer look at the top of the cab glass in each of my examples and have found another faint number - as far as I can make out (using a magnifiying glass) the number can be a 14, 10 or 9

Any ideas what these refer to and why they should be different from each other?

Thanks in anticipation :)

Sebastian

This one may be a little harder to find - it has the painted crane rivet on the base with the usual wider wheels and no tow guide

Details are as follows:

1 Fully painted yellow crane interior with part painted rivet that secures the crane glazing
2 No strengthening brace in the crane interior
3 Chassis no. 2
4 Crane no. 2
5 Short axle braces
6 No. 15 inscribed on the cab glazing
7 No. 12 inscribed on the crane glazing

Happy Collecting :D :D

I have been watching the offering of an unlisted version of this 63C Dodge Crane Truck for quite some time now that I don't think has been mentioned on the Forum. I have now been able to finally secure an example of this unlisted model with details I will mention here.
1. Earlier front Base without Tow Guide.
2. Short braces under chassis axles as discussed earlier in these Posts by Diecast.
3. Upper Crane unit with later added reinforcement brace on its rotation pin.
4. Unpainted crane rotation rivet head.
5. #2 on Crane chassis.
6. No number inside upper crane casting, but with #14 imprinted on upper crane window unit.
7. Dodge Truck cab windshield has both #37 and #11 numbers cast in it, and is held into this truck cab by its black grill insert.
( The window unit still has a central hole in it, but is not used on this #63 Crane cab on this toy.)
8. This model has a single line red hook on it.
9. The cab on this Crane does NOT have the crude patch on the door frame that Nick has illustrated in his Guide. I would like to see how many members might have a Crane with that crude die repair on it to see how late in this model's life that patch occurred. Could it have been an added piece of steel on a single model that was picked up during the tumbling operation and "Painted Onto" the model Nick has illustrated and have actually been an error rather than a die modification??
10. Six Wide Tires 12.5X45X4.4mm thick.

The "cave man" refuses to learn how to post photos, so the answer to that question is no. Let's all encourage Dick to give up that digital ignorance!

I bought myself a new camera 2 years ago to try and Post some pictures for Ghosty and Tinman, but alas the Caveman could never be taught the fine art of uploading anything onto the Forum, even though my Son tried to help me with that new electronic marvel. I could give you the E Bay Item #, but Hugh would then have to remind me to upload any pictures permanently so that they can be used well after that listing can no longer be referenced. I am afraid your very well done photos are all we can enjoy for now Sebastian...... :( Cheers Anyway....Kwakers

Does your new model have the usual thick or the slightly harder to find thin wheels ? :) :)
