One that is unboxed does not have a number on the base, it has a red body and white roof and may be a vauxhall of some type. Looks very similar to what Holden made here in a FJ or FX Holden.

Welcome to the Forum Bruce, this is the only place to be to discuss Lesney/Matchbox.

It sounds like you are referring to the Vauxhall Cresta RW#22a. Should have metal wheels and a black base. Can we see some pictures Bruce

Are you really called Bruce???................coincidently my wife is called Sheila.......amazing eh!!
Black base with grey wheels silver grill and bumpers and a tow bar. Lesney England is all thats on the base and I have just moved house and have the camera but cant find the lead lol so should show up in a few days.

Yes I really am Bruce but not the one from the university of Woolloomooloo! You do remember the rules dont you?

Lol at coincidence with wifes name.

Cricket starts in a few hours at our newly (but still in progress) built Adelaide Oval.... Go you Aussies :)

Others with sharper eyes might see something I've missed, and without more detailed pictures to prove otherwise, those all look to be pretty standard models to me. In mint condition, and with those boxes (assuming they are intact) reckon on a valuation of between £40 and £60 each. On a good day on eBay some may fetch a little more, but probably not much.

Very nice collection though.

Hi Bruce, those in the photos look to be in remarkable condition and I am pretty sure there will be some forum members would like to look at some of those in close-up pictures, but not too close!

The yellow Vauxhall Victor, #45, it would be nice to see the inside, no don't laugh, that's what I said...If you could just capture the area below the front windscreen, where the dashboard would be in the real car...If it's the correct variation, that is going to set some pulses racing!

Cheers for that, if you can do it,
GHOSTHUNTER.

I think your going to be dissappointed :(
Also I am yet to open all the boxes and just found a 22 in a 45 box so there could still be some surprises but I wont be doing that in the near future.
The reason for the condition is that when my Dad sold the shop (early 60's I think) they went into a couple of shoe boxes and have rarely been disturbed since!
Oh and Cheers Martin :)
Note natural light (I'm learning) lol

Just for info, the absence or presence of the so-called "dashboard" in the 45a Vauxhall Victor can only be noticed when the inside is viewed from the rear, so I am afraid your pictures have been taken from the wrong angle. Here is an old comparison picture which should clear this matter up:

Image

The rare one is the one without the "dashboard". The casting was changed to include this interior brace very early on in this model's production career.

It is, however, not exceptionally rare, and I have seen quite a few over the years. There are many other models which have similar rare inside casting variations, some of them much rarer than the Vauxhall but at the same time much less well known and therefore less sought after (and consequently less "valuable", if you believe in values ;) ).
