Ewan's Etsy Shop New Stuff

Post by Ewan »

As quite a few forum members know by now, my collecting is largely funded by a little online shop I run on a site called etsy (link at the bottom of this post). Rather than clog up 'The Marketplace' with continual new topics I thought it would be wise to create one thread and update it as and when with details of new stock and discount codes. If this sounds a bit 'commercial' for anyone please let me know and I'll rethink but in all honesty I'm not the next Donald Trump/Alan Sugar/Richard Branson and I'm not raking it in, just financing my collecting.

Most of what I sell is not probably nothing special to most of you, certainly not if you only collect 'Mint In Box'. However, the forum covers a huge spectrum of collectors including those (like me) who have much bigger wish lists than collections. If I find anything that I think is particularly desirable I will post it here for at least a week before listing it in the shop in order to give forum members first go. Or I'll keep it myself

Anyone interested in something from the shop who does not want the hassle of opening an etsy account can purchase from me directly - just PM. I'm also happy to swap, again just PM.

Anyway, the first new stock of the year is listed, 4 relatively common models at £4 each. All are missing their plastic bits, and most unfortunate of all the GMC has no rear door - otherwise it's very clean. 5 photos of each in the shop.

11d Mercedes Scaffolding Truck - Nick's Code 1 (round baseplate holes)
44c GMC Refridgerator Truck - Nick's Code 3 (No Tow Guide, Extra Door Stop, Rear Bumper)
58c DAF Girder Truck - Nick's Code 2 (No Tow Guide, Window Stud Fixing)
SF50 Kennel Truck - think it's a Nick's Code 10 but colours are not my speciality  (Dk Metallic Green, Gloss Black Baseplate, 11x2mm 5 slot wheels, Chrome Grille)

You can tell I've had some time on my hands today can't you :D

The next 4 additions to the shop will be listed over the next day or so. The 2 fire engines are nothing special, narrow misses for the beater box to be honest - 29c is a Nick's Code 6 with tow bracket and raised door panels and the SF35 is either code 1 or 2 (£2.50 each). The 40b Coach has silver wheels and is £5. My personal favourite is the 37b Karrier with small bpw and reasonable paint/decals - yours for £10.

3 more up today - the Kennel truck and VW are beater box near misses tbh, the Impala is better though.

20c Chevrolet Impala Taxi - Nick's Code 8 - Orange/Yellow, Red Interior, Decal, Body 3 or 4 (£5)
25b Volkswagen 1200 - Nick's Code 7 - 9X24 gpw, green windows, no baseplate brace, no engine cover either.... (£3)
50c Kennel Truck - Nick's Code 5 - textured bed, white grille missing a corner, flat black base (£2.50)

The latest arrivals will be gradually listed over the next few days, here's a little preview

MOST of them are pretty routine and will be a fiver or less. Exceptions are the 36c which is rather clean, has no tow guides or bumper extension (£7 ish), the 31a with gpw (£8 ish) and the 35b which still has it's original tracks, decal is 22mm (£6 ish). The 54b is a Code 1 with decals and no axle platform.

Then there is the VW. It's a Code 9 with 11 x45 bpw, no rivets, 6 line base and thin box inside the door. 2 flaws worth pointing out, one being the bottom of the door

The other is the roof glazing

I'm open to offers for this one (including swaps), and will leave listing it until last to give as many forum members as possible a chance. It will probably sell on etsy within 24 to 48 hours simply because it's a VW Camper not because of the wheels.

The pictured Corgi Juniors will be next up, although they never seem to do as well for me as Matchbox or Husky (brand awareness?). I'm happy to trade, top of my Husky/CJ wish list being Husky Buick in orange, a good Juniors ERF Cement mixer and Duple Vista 25 coaches without Whizzwheels, but there are plenty others I'd be happy with too.

The Jeep, Raygo Rascal, Massey Ferguson and one of the Zetors are pretty good, the SD and other Zetor less so, more photos of them all if required.

Just listed the pictured trio - the 42a is the one most likely to interest any of you - it has fine tread bpw. I suspect the 41a may have been repainted at some point, although to a pretty high standard, feel free to check out the listing and share your opinions :D
