Picked up this beauty a few days ago and had to get some pictures up of it. The 2-tone 50A Commer is one that I have been looking for quite a while now. I finally got one that met my condition and price range. The box could be a little nicer but for now it will have to do. If anyone has a mint D-type box for sale let me know.
That box is quite fine by my standards, and the model is one to be proud of. Rather than upgrade such a fine box, I would enjoy it and search for the next needed model variation on your 'wish' list. You have to keep in mind that these boxes are now decades old, just like the toys that came in them. If they are like my spare store stock, they have been opened many times to check a new variation, frayed at their edges in doing so, bent a bit in handling, but are still original. Just like the many variations we keep of the models, they each have their imperfections that give them a personality and some character. As we age and ourselves become (MORE! LOL) flawed, we can enjoy a less perfect world even in our hobby. Happy hunting, and a Great pair to start the new year off right........kwakers
Dick is right John, That box looks in great condition and as for the Commer......It's a beauty to behold and a brilliant addition to your collection. One of my favourite RW's
I agree, nice box and the model isn't shabby either - 50a is one of my faves, still looking for a minty two tone black wheels variant. For boxes. I am to the point where if it has both endflaps and isn't stained/torn/etc, I am fine with it.
I guess I am just one to have everything perfect. I agree that the box is in quite nice shape, I actually graded it out at a 8.0 on my scale of 1-10. I mainly collect for the model but it is so nice to get that mint box to go along with the mint car. I'm just picky as the devil. Thanks for all the nice comments.

The box looks great to me...I could live with it...
