Went to huntingdon today met Tim properly this time jolly nice chap he is too, bought a couple of military SFs the dozer I never had & the gun has all its bits unlike my others, team matchbox came from his mate Stuart on the next table
Also briefly met Nick, hope you managed to find something

Non matchbox are a nice husky James bond, mini dinky corvette & hotwheels bat mobile
Transporter and hillman being ebay wins [ I wonder if the hillman is your old one Nick]
Vw is an old one i was talking to Tim about

What conclusion did you and Tim come to about the Herbie?

Some nice stuff there Reg, i love the blue Team Matchbox, what condition is it in and do you mind me asking how much you paid for it?

Hi Alex, Tim never saw herbie he has one for sale without the sunroof decal and I was telling him about mine so I put it on here so he had an idea what it looks like, personally I don't think it's genuine as I didn't think they had roof decals, Tims is without the roof and the #53 is over the stripe instead of the side like mine, l have seen one of mine on ebay a long while ago so maybe someone done some code 3s
The team matchbox was £30 a bit more than I usually limit myself to the norm being about £20 incase get it wrong and get a dud, condition is very good a couple of chips to the edges front wheels were a little bent but straightend up Ok

It certainly does. That is the Eheim version of the 34a VW.
What we eventually pieced together on the old forum was that Lesney produced maroon 34a bodies for Eheim to use for their draisine. When the model was deleted from the range, the tooling was sold to Eheim who subsequently modified the tooling by i) turning the VW symbol on the front into a plain boss, and ii) deleteing the upper set of louvres on both sides. The former modification helped with the attachment of a round label to the front of the model, but there is no obvious reason for the latter one.

Reg you did very well on that blue Team Matchbox which can command very high prices mint, it looks in very good condition, nice one.

Your Herbie is still a nice little display model, i have seen this code 3 appear quite often on ebay, cheers.
