Hi Kev.

Are you intending to restore this to a displayable condition. I also notice the tool box cover and the cable winding unit has been lost. There may be replacements available of the winder unit but not the tool box cover as it was part of the overal moulded Red plastic unit fitted in the rear deck area.

Hi Kev I was thinking about restoring the paintwork and the winch, any ideas of what the correct colours are for the main body and the bumpers also would I use humbrol enamel paints. Where is the best place to purchase the winding gear from. :D

It looks to be in the original colour unless signs of a repaint are not showing in your pictures, but that is the colour of the example I once owned. If you are steady with modelling brushes then Humbrol type model paints would be suitable, plus it gives you a wider choice of colours to choose from. The bumpers can be painted in bright Silver. To do a proper job it will need to be taken apart by drilling out the front base rivet and prepairing the remains of the rivet to enable a small screw to re-secure the base. I do not know if the replacement winch unit can just be clipped into place, but if you take the model apart then this is no longer a problem.

These...https://www.modelcarparts.com/categorie/corgi-toys-0 are currently listing a winch unit and a toolbox cover, but I suspect this will be the whole unit, not just the cover.

Fantastic help Kev much appreciated, this is definitely the original colour as there are no signs of a respray and I have noticed the vw badge should be red but the silver is showing where it has been worn. The colour apparently is beige so I will be popping to my local hobby shop for the correct colour with model. :D
