It says it was Tan originally and that he restored it as it looked tired, would have been better to leave it in original condition in my opinion.

I'm not convinced that this is the correct casting. (Doesn't the tan 46a have a casting defect on the front offside wing?)
I'll bet you a pound to a penny he doesn't have any 'before' or 'during' photographs to go with the 'after' ones. (I wonder why that would be?)

I think a member has very recently shown us a Tan Morris, wonder if that has the casting fault.

Ghosthunter.

P.S. found it...it was Macdonald here...viewtopic.php?f=31&t=4847&p=55368&hilit ... nor#p55368

Hello Idris. Here is the model Ghosty mentioned. I'll let you be the judge. Cheers, Macdonald

The raised and reinforced center on the inside front bumper is obvious on the green and blue Morris in the photos in the previous post. The tan Morris has a smooth underside. This is not a defect just a difference in the original casting which was reinforced in subsequent issues. To my knowledge there have not been any tan Morris discovered without a smooth underside on the bumper. There has been a discovery of a green Morris (Dr Jazz) without the raised center and is listed as code 2 by Nick. Cheers, Macdonald

Well, it’s certainly the right casting (no strengthening step on the front valance below the tab slot), but I can’t see the casting flaw on the front wing.
We need Numi on this one! (She’s the expert on these minor casting imperfections on borderline pre-productions.)

The casting defect would be interesting to see. Couldn't the reinforced area of a common model be ground off smooth?
