Shining

Post by Ecclesley »

I found an Aston Martin DBR 5 in need of a restoration.
Having stripped the few bits of paint left on the body I was thinking about what color to use.
In the end I decided to polish it and leave it there. Now it shines like a goat's ..............

I like the result of a bare metal model finished off with a nice shiny sheen. It would be nice to see a few more like this as there are some wonderful castings made by Lesney that tend to be masked by the final painting process.

It would also be interesting to see just how long the model keeps it's nice bright look, because eventually it will go dull and need rebuffing again. It may be possible to give a model such as this a coat of clear lacquer to help protect it.

Nicely presented Gerrit.
