My first completed resto

Post by daz28 »

I had a few freebies from Tinman (although I have plenty I brought to restore). I started a few years back but never got around to finishing any.
So I had this DB thinking I could use the interior to fix my broken one. but then thought why not just fix it as best as I can.
 I forgot the before pics.
the base was partly missing, It was very brittle so was built up with 2 pack resin glue, then dremmeled as best as I could. I gave it some Matchbox wire wheels.
The interior was painted, it looked boring in red. The glass was cleaned up (shame its blue  ).
the body was sprayed with a mix of silver and gold. the reason for this was I am sure I once read that the James bond car was Champagne colour, not gold and not silver (could be wrong on that). Its Not Perfect but at least its finished and cost nowt :D .

Nice stuff Daz, those wires work so well on this model.
This is a Husky Aston Martin and seeing it now, reminds I need to have one in my stable.
Thanks for showing.

Keep it up Daz, we like seeing restorations and customs from members and what a good choice for a first resto, James Bond's Aston Martin...or is it, hang on a minute, surely Mettoy have not used a DB6 instead of a DB5...THEY HAVE, HOW VERY NAUGHTY OF METTOY... :o

Very nice work. I love the intricate machinery for the ejector seat. The DB6 was already in the range so it was retrofitted with new seat mechanism. Nice fun car nonetheless.

Nice job, it's good to see other brands being used and I agree with Reg, the wheels suit nicely.
