These don't come up for sale very often and at one stage were considered the holy grail for Corgi collectors, IMHO it still is and in this condition i reckon you would stand a good chance of getting £1500+ easily

For what its worth i wouldn't go anywhere near Vectis, some of the other established toy auctioneers will look after you better, but that's just my opinion!

Interesting Neil, can you suggest who may be a better option?

SAS - Special Auction Services or Warwick and Warwick are both pretty decent

I understand that these 2 Auction houses certainly charge slightly less commission on their sales however neither has the number of worldwide subscribers that Vectis has watching their specialist auctions. IMHO.

I would agree with that, a set like this needs to be seen by as many potential bidders as possible to generate the highest bids.

The trouble with these auction houses is there commission
20% +vat
£240 per £1000 of sale price
Then the buyer has to pay buyers premium onto of there bid
Auction house does pretty well from it
I'm thinking ebay classified ad at the moment

On page 2 of this thread I stated..."the Cream over pale green Bentley should go for close to £100 on it's own"...now look at the image below...

The picture is not very clear, but the version of this Bentley may be the same as in the set we have been commenting on, within this thread!

Vectis employ several specialists toy experts to value items sent for auction, It's possible that their Corgi expert is away examining a collection for a customer, They may not be the fastest and they are probably the most expensive but their customer base is by far the largest, Just about all of the world record prices for toys have been set by Vectis, Be patient..
