News just in, the VBD Times and its subsidiaries are under investigation by the Ethics Committee after reports that a senior figure has been accused of censorship. An anonymous whistleblower said, "Look buddy, if I want to talk football then I will." It's not known who the allegations relate to or whether the person works for the organisation at this stage, but this will send ripples around the world of media, sport and diecast collecting. More to follow soon......
FED-UP WITH ALL THE FOOTBALL, FED-UP WITH YOUR NORMAL MODELS and FED-UP WITHOUT ANY EXCITEMENT IN YOUR LIFE!
Well, now you can look forward to the late summer months when you can take part in the 'Great HTF Treasure Hunt', where very 'Hard To Find' Matchbox models are being burried in various locations around the British Isles, just waiting to be discovered by collectors!
The final details are still being formulated as we write this, but it looks to be a very rewarding adventure for those taking part, but we do know the models are being kindly donated by a very rich collector who does read the 'VBD Times' and he has promised us some really tricky, but clever clues as to where models can be found.
So here's looking to a very fun filled few late summer months digging big holes in the ground looking for rare models!
The 'VBD Times' office has had a collective letter form some of our readers. In the letter it warns of certain mature members of the forum may need to be monitored as they reach a mature age and it goes on to refer to one particular member who is apparently reaching 2000. Our concern is why wasn't we made aware of this earlier, so we could make plans for a full-time carer to come in and look after this Citizen, who must surely need some personal care attention.
We don't know for sure but assume he (yes, it is a Male), probably has a collection of models, because he is a regular contributor to forum topics and the concern here is weather the collection is safe, now we want to be kind to Mr X, but at such an age, how on earth has he managed to carry on collecting!
We hope Mr X gets in touch (or somebody on his behalf..lack of senses, vision and poor concentration must have set-in by now), to let us know the state of the collection and if we need to start making plans to re-house the collection to secure it's future.
So, PLEASE Mr X, be careful but please allow us to look after you collection for you, you may well not be in a position any more to do this yourself.
BREAKING NEWS...
The sad news of more war on the verge of breaking out in foreign parts has led to the British government instigating one of their 'COBRA' emergency meetings. This is of some concern to us fearing the safety of Matchbox models in those countries, so the 'VBD Times' have been in touch with a few selective forum members and together we have called upon our 'HAMSTER' (Hostilities Against Matchbox Should Terminate Everywhere Regardless), emergency meeting, to draw up plans on how we can liberate those Matchbox models in danger.
We will not release details hear until we have successfully got those models out of those countries, but we are looking for volunteers to help with the task force we are sending over there.
If you can help, get in touch via the details on the back page of any copy of your 'VBD Times', thanks.
An update on our mission to rescue "Matchbox" collections from those Countries currently at War.
Several operatives working on our behalf have successfully saved some noteworthy collections and brought them back to the UK for safe keeping and the offices of the 'VBD Times' is looking quite different now the cabinets are filling up with previously endangered models.
