Moko Lesney Matchbox 16d Case bulldozer

The Lesney model of the Case bulldozer joined the Matchbox 1-75 series in 1969,
It was made in two main parts, The body which was painted red and the base, Engine & dozer blade assembly which was painted from yellow to orange as shades vary considerably,
The two parts were joined together by three rivets through the base.
The rollers were 9.5mm black plastic on dome head rounded axles and they were fitted with either green or on the final issues black 25 tread rubber tracks,
An orange plastic canopy was fitted on top but as this is removable quite often it is missing altogether.

As for casting variations this one had many combinations,
There were four different castings of the baseplate and fortunately they are numbered underneath in the hollow which forms the engine,
The lettering on all four bases were different, Base #1 had Matchbox cast without the " " found on the other three, Base #2 had the " " cast directly over the M and the X in matchbox, Base #3 had the " " cast directly above the M but to the left of the X and base #4 had the " over the M but in between the OX, Base #1 and #4 had a thin rear edge just inside from the tow hook and #2 and #3 had a thick rear edge.
There were also two modifications to the dozer blade, A ridge was cast along the top edge and the rounded inner corners were angled, The plastic canopy roof is also numbered 1 to 4 on the inside,

There are three modifications to the body casting, The first was to remove the raised ridge which runs across the rear end behind the tow hook, This was done by raising the area below it to bring it to the same height as the ridge leaving just the upper edge visible,
Next two 'ears' were cast in each side of the cab which were probably to locate the roof and finally the squared off top edge of the track guards was rounded,
The Case was packaged in 'F' type boxes and continued into the superfast range in 'G' type boxes,
It was later released in military green as an army vehicle and it was deleted in 1974.
