#6a Ferrari Berlinetta 250GT

The Ferrari Berlinetta 250GT joined the Husky models range as the new #6 in 1967.
This selection may well have been connected to the large sales of the 1/43 Ferrari Berlinetta 250 Le Mans in the full size Corgi range, a car outwardly identical save for the rear window arrangement.
This model was in production for less than 3 years and featured no casting variations to its metal body and metal baseplate except for the addition of an ejector ring on the top of the dash early in production.

All examples had clear glazing, red seats and a chrome plated plastic engine.
All examples ran on the same radial spoked diecast hubs already well known from use on the 1/43 scale Austin & Morris Mini models but instead of normal rubber tyres low profile hard plastic 11.5x2mm tyres were used for these Ferraris and other sporty Huskys as well as the 1/43 scale Heinkel bubblecar.
At least half of these Ferraris produced were painted standard Fire engine red however the last production in 1968-69 was painted in the same crimson specified for the Sunbeam Alpine.
Both colours can be found packaged in standard red/white blisterpacks and crimson examples can be found in scarce yellow/red/white blisterpacks. .
