Husky / Corgi Juniors by Mettoy #2a Citroen Safari

The Citroen Safari took the #2 slot in the launch of the Husky range at Woolworths stores in 1964. It was always packed in the generic red on white blisterpack.
All were painted vanilla, a colour which some collectors regard as very light green and others as very light yellow so to avoid confusion it is logical to compare this colour to the world´s favourite icecream flavour.
All featured untinted glazing, yellow plastic seats and a chrome plated plastic baseplate with fragile leaf suspension.

A reddish brown boat was mounted on the roof, this was easily lost and all Husky & Juniors civilian Citroen Safaris used the same boat molding so swaps can happen once the blister is opened.
As with all the original range launch models , 9 x 2mm solid gray plastic wheels were fitted.
The master model for the #2a was retooled 6mm longer with a metal baseplate in 1967 as the #2b.
