Husky / Corgi Juniors by Mettoy #19a Commer Walk Thru van

The Commer Walk Thru van joined the Husky range in 1965 as their first casting with a metal baseplate which was painted gray as was standard for full size Corgis of these years.
It was only in production until 1969 even though the 1:1 remained in production until the end of the 1970s and the look of this van was very close to iconic American UPS vans of the 1970s so perhaps Corgi lost a great promtional tool deleting this model so soon.

The first release was lime green with red sliding doors , blue tinted glazing and 9 x 2mm solid gray plastic wheels featuring rolled brown paper suspension, by far the most robust Husky of the entire range.

In 1968-69 the baseplates were plated instead of painted and for the final year of production the body colour was changed to red to match the sliding doors.
All versions were packaged in standard red & white Husky models blisterpacks with some of the final red issues in the 1969 (post-Woolworths exclusive contract) yellow-red-white blisterpacks.
