Re: Just arrived
Very nice Mick, I see it also has a missing horse shaft, just like my one on the auction site, how much if you don't mind me asking?.

Re: Just arrived
No missing shaft Nick, just the way I took the pic. I already had the junk and driver from another one so matched it all up. Don't ask but around the 250 mark. Its almost impossible to repair the horse shafts even if you have the broken bit as they are so thin/flat and not much to even get a pin in to fit the 2 parts together, that plus I only know of one glue that will hold Mazac well.

That is a great model Mick, not got into these yet as I have some many others to get. You must have a few of these now.

Just a few Jason - still looking for more
Re: Just arrived
WOW - easily the biggest group shot of these larger scale toys that i have ever seen! In the plain cardboard 1950s before the arty boxes we know, did toy stores display these as Mick has done in the photos with no packaging in sight??
Re: Just arrived
As far as I know the Prime Mover, Milk cart and the Rag & Bone cart were all boxed (last 2 similar to the MICA repro ones) The earlier toys were all sold loose in a display plain cardboard box, 12 in each but assorted colours. The coronation coaches had their own boxes and as did Jumbo and the Massey tractor. The only one I have no clue on is the soap box racer but presume 12 to a box as the others.
You would have to be one lucky boy to find them like this nowadays but one lucky collector in the US has them and all rare orange/black rollers
For ultra rare my list would be as follows in no particular order as all very hard to find. I'm sure some could add a few more but all early toys are hard to come by. I have always wondered if the Luger they made early on had Lesney on it or was it made for another company but production of it is well know ( John Kendall -1st worker at Lesney and Rodney Smith both collaborate its production)
Orange/ black roller or cement mixer
Tan or red roller
Soap box racer
Green R&B cart
Blue Milk cart
Prime mover trailer without text on base
Green (light or dark) Crawlers

Hi Mick
I loved you allowing me to view your collection (some time ago now) and even driving me to your home.
Your soap box racer sent shivers up my spine, truly a great early Lesney piece that less than 2 dozen are known in our world.
Congrats on your new score, couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.
Still waiting for one to come my way however not using ebay I might have to wait a while (little old Adelaide has been good
for many goodies but not a Rag & Bone Cart yet).
Now to take you to task, your Jumbo is German not Lesney?
Your early Lesney collection is brill, most impressive. Thanks for sharing.
