A recent minor scare, and the desire to raise funds so I may pursue other interests, mean that much of my collection is on the market. I'm only asking what I paid (as best I can recall); there is some room for negotiation. Will trade for a complete and intact code 5 71B (11x45 wheels and metal door springs)...otherwise, cash on the barrelhead. All prices exclude shipping. I will ship internationally if buyer feels it's worth the hassle. I will be happy to provide more pictures upon request.

Re: Lots of models (mostly Matchbox) for sale
Dan, this is quite sad after reading on your blog the reasons for your sudden change of direction in collecting. Its not very nice to have to downsize any toy or model collection and certainly not nice to lose a collecting friend from this forum so I hope however it turns out for you, you can keep the collecting interest going but above all it is your safety that is of paramount importance and you know you will be welcome back to this forum at any time in the future.
Good luck with the selling of some of your models, I am sure all them will find good homes.
Regards,
Ghosty.

Re: Lots of models (mostly Matchbox) for sale
As Ghosty mentioned, there is a reason I'm downsizing. The short version is that I recently faced down the possibility of a house fire. I also want to do some camping and fishing when the weather is more agreeable. I'll probably stop around from time to time, and the Corgis are staying with me for now. Should anyone want to read the entire story, I'll post it.

I'd like to take a few off your hands:
The 2c, 8a & 33b wanna come home.
The two King Size models.
The early Mercedes (Y10-1 i think it is).
The race about.
Does the fridge truck have a door on the rear?

Re: Lots of models (mostly Matchbox) for sale
I'll take the fridge truck as well.
Sorry to hear about your close call with a fire.
As to the question: What would you grab and try to save from a house fire? In order of importance; my wife, my phone, my wallet and my pants. Everything else is just stuff and most stuff can be replaced. What can't be replaced is likely more sentimental than valuable. It's all probably going in an estate sale and/or a large rubbish skip after I pass anyway. My third ex-wife took nearly everything in the house. I didn't argue or bicker over anything she wanted (large or small). I just wanted her gone. She cleaned out the house and left. I got to keep my sanity and once again get all new "stuff." I say "once again" because this wasn't the first time I started over from scratch with regards to "stuff" lost in a divorce. You know, nothing is forever (unless your a pyramid or the great wall of China) and stuff is just stuff. Besides, fire insurance is cheap and I've got plenty of coverage on the stuff.
You will be missed around here.

Re: Lots of models (mostly Matchbox) for sale
My list is pretty much the same, but adds pets and important documents (such as a copy of my birth certificate). A change of clothes may also fit in there.Tinman wrote:What would you grab and try to save from a house fire? In order of importance; my wife, my phone, my wallet and my pants.
Now that you're getting the two King Size models, I'll want to see them restored. So I'm not leaving this board entirely.

It's only money, what the heck ... I'll take the 8c and the 12c as well. Oh, what year is that Dinky Landy?
