A word of warning to anyone in the Uk who needs to upgrade to a smart electricity meter.
There is a telephone scam where a company rings up and tries to book an appointment with you for installing a smart meter. They claim to be from your electricity supplier (who would carry out the work for free), but are actually a third-party looking to charge you for the installation work.
I received a call as described above from 0345-722-6644 and they claimed to be from SSE, but I'm sure other outfits are also active.
