Sometimes silver isn't silver, or at least variations in paint can be nearly impossible to describe. Over the production run of the 811/C811 Mercedes 300SL, Mettoy and then Corgi Toys Ltd used a number of different paint suppliers for their models. Silver is one of those colors that is notoriously hard to match from lot to lot, as these three models show.
