a small contribution to the variations
A) gold/white body, shaped wheels, base plate with three rivets
B) blue/white body, shaped wheels, base plate with three rivets
C) lighter blue/white body, shaped wheels, base plate with one rivet

the variation with one rivet base plate has two square protrusions on the grille rear side

Thanks for the new variation data. Now I'll need to go and check mine!
BTW, add the gold version with smooth wheels to the variations.

Thanks Bill for the comment. I have to find the gold/white variation with smooth wheels (which is also mentioned in your fantastic book) somewhere in my spare models.

Mine has the single rivet. I was unaware that any Heralds had smooth wheels...presumably those are early production?

There are 1 rivet as well as 3 rivet examples with smooth as well as shaped wheels.

I can't recall having seen a Herald with smooth wheels...but I'll keep looking.

Could you please show some photo. I thought that the single rivet model was a late variation and therefore I would not assume smooth wheels by these models.
