Checking up on a deal I was offered
Checking up on a deal I was offered
I was offered this boxed set for $178.00 US. Is that a fair price or am I being taken advantage of?
It might be time to start my "Bucket List."
Re: Checking up on a deal I was offered
Such a set recently sold on eBay for £40 (just over $54 US). Another is listed with a start bid of $65.99 and no takers thus far.

I have seen these sell for as low as £25 in the UK but then of course you would have to add the shipping fee.
It seems these sets are listed all the time on Ebay so watch and wait, just make sure it comes with all the paper work and the box key.

...and if the ebay pictures does not show it on the models, ask the seller about any corrosion on the bare metal components caused by interaction between the creamy-white foam spacers - designed to protect the the models but long term habitation of these foam items is causing damage.
I have a mint in box set in my shop at the moment and corrosion has just started to display itself so all foam has been taken out, something I did as soon as the item came into the shop!

Whoever is asking the price you quote is a chancer.

Yikes, "taken advantage of" is an understatement it seems. They should at least offer me dinner and a movie before having their way with me.

This set was promoted hard around the globe and I have several "flyers" for it.
This is the U.S.A. example.

I sold two mint sets at a Toy Show for $25 USD each last February. Theses sets are very hard to sell and even harder to ship. No one wants to pay the shipping costs.
