My first Kings
My first Kings
This is my new venture for 2021. Part of the YY collection has been/is being sold off to fund this. I will only go for 99% mint models in 95% or better boxes. Have four more on the way. I realize this could be an expensive journey, and will be going through Charlie's posts. I only intend to obtain models in closed card boxes.

Re: My first Kings
Great choice of your new series to collect Bob and a very good start. Both are nice models and the K10 has a few nice variations. I look forward to seeing your collection evolve and as usual the good quality images you share.

Thanks Bert. I'll add them here as I go along. Lots to learn ref. variations and box types, so will alleviate the boredom over the festive season (you'll gather from this I'm not a fan! ). Have more on the way..........

Re: My first Kings
I also have just over 20 Kingsize models.
I had some in the early nineties which were sold in 1996 when I moved house to my current place.
However I started to collect them to complete my 1964, 1965 and 1966 general displays like the way they were shown in those years trade catalogues.
In the last 2 years I bought more to complete my big 1965 general display which I get from Vectis late 2018.
I have all original boxes for them , which I like to find in best possible condition. Sometimes quite hard as these models are very heavy.
For the big general 1965 display I have E style of boxes for all of them, including for the M6 Major Pack Pickfords Transporter. A box, which is very very difficult to find for that model.
Still need a M5 Combine with E box for that display but anyway this tread was for the beautiful King Size models.
The artwork on the mid sixties boxes is superb.
Great you like these also Bob. Another competitior for me in my search for more King Size models.

Re: My first Kings
I like the King Size models, too. The prices they command...not so much. Congratulations on adding those superb examples to your collection, Bob!

Re: My first Kings
The cabinet is now ready.
The aim is to fill it with Kings as those below are filled with YY's. Might take a while......and cost a fair bit!
