Have this item, size shown beside ruler in inches. In one pic, there are ridges along the bottom. They are letters less than 2mm tall that say made in England. Made of metal, 2 pieces joined together. It has the bigger England on the other side.
Thought it may be a bucket that lost the handle, a crude garbage can or something that that hangs from a jib.
Thoughts?

Something like a hand drawn carbage can because it clearly is designed to be swivalable hanging from a frame and probably transportable - hence a hand drawn device.

This reminds me of something I have seen made by one of the hollowcast lead manufacturers such as Britains, Charbens or Crescent. There was a road maintenance crew and they had a hand held trolley with something like this suspended from it as a tar bucket. I'll have an online trawl for it later, I'm supposed to be working just now

Same kind of idea here - Britains gardener with water barrow.
Right, I'd really better get back to work now!

That's great spotting. It does look like that. I wouldn't have thought of that as a search input.
Now, does anyone need it? i don't. I'll put it in the market place.
