50b John Deere Tractor Question

I found a bit of a difference in tow of these models I have in my collection but find no reference to them. Has anyone else seen this? On the right side engine cowling one of the models has "DEERE" marked very clearly and the other one does not. I suspect it is simply a filled in die at one time, but don't know if this would class as a variation or not. My apologies for the picture quality.

Hi Cam,this is certainly not a variation.
This was possibly caused by clogging, perhaps dirt or metal dust accumulation in the text depressions of the moulds that had gone unnoticed during production.
Its an oddity if i might add.

Hi Cam, when you check models closely like this you can find all sorts of very small differences due to die wear, contamination, flash-over, etc. Things like the clarity of wording, differences in cast lines, incomplete fine detail like rivet lines, door handles, etc can be affected. I find it all part of the fun and well worth mentioning in case it leads to some interesting discussions. I think Nick often mentions significant differences when numbers are involved. I've checked mine and I don't have this one unfortunately, but it's something I'll look out for now :D

Thanks for the information. I would imagine there would be unlimited variations if we tried to account for every tiny thing.
