Two Forums

Post by kerbside »

Hello again Nick, will you be running two forums, this one and the other Lefora site, if so I will be having to put the # casting on both forums?

Hi George.
I will not be keeping the lefora forum going, just this one.

Hi Nick,

Nice to be with you again.

I found registration quite easy and if anyone was going to balls it up, it would be me...!!!

I posted a 'thanks to you' and the offer of any assistance we can offer you while you muck around with the two forums, but right on the moment of posting it, my internet connection was lost and I see it has not got onto the pages of this site, never mind, I am back on line and posting this one to you.

Once again Nick, just shout for any assistance and someone will come running to help you, I believe there are a couple of techy members among us, so fingers crossed, all will be OK.

Best regards,
GHOSTHUNTER.

Thanks for the offer Ghosthunter.
I'm getting the hang of this forum now, I just replaced the links to lefora from my site to this forum, 2600 or so pages, thank the almighty that it can all be automated now or I would have been at it for weeks lol.

I think you've made the right choice, Nick (although I realise that you must have done it with a heavy heart). The old Forum was simply too user-unfriendly after the downgrade.
I Sincerely hope that you will be able to salvage the archive an upload it to this new Forum. (I'm sure there are plenty of IT experts amongst our members who could help if required.)

Nick are you going to import the threads from the other site?
Please use a web hosting site (like photobucket) to store pictures so you can post them here, using attachments makes it hard to view the pictures when you have to scroll to see them. Seeing comparisons of models is hard to see with attachments too.

I'm not sure if I can but Martin Avis has copied a lot of the old site so we might be able to save at least some of it
