Looking on the base off this model I found that the position where the first line is different. The position start in one before the stripes begins and the other starts at the same position off the stripes above it. Maybey it's already been mentioned but didn't found it. Here a pictures what I mean.

Also the position on the second picture is to the left. First picture are they centred.

You can see the different position of the 'PATT APP' in your first picture suggesting two distinct dies in use for volume production. You would however think the second die would still be made with the same specification tolerances as the first but we all know what Lesney are like with their tooling!!

Text "Matchbox …" also found equal and before the stripes by the unpainted bases.
