Generous gift
This week I was left stunned when I received this stunning gift from our highly respected fellow member and friend Joe Allen ‘Tinman’. This represents the preproduction #13d Dodge Wreck truck in reverse colours with thin booms and grey hook. I have been seriously left speechless by Joes generosity. I know how much work he puts into producing his customs and the workmanship on the example is exceptional. Joe is back in the game again and is producing more and more great customs that he sells via eBay and I cannot recommend him enough if any of you are looking for a particular custom model for your collections then get in contact with Joe.
Thank you once again Joe, you are a true gent and a good friend.

great work always...joe inspired me when i was doing repaints and customs...his tips help me out tremendously
Please use a web hosting site (like photobucket) to store pictures so you can post them here, using attachments makes it hard to view the pictures when you have to scroll to see them. Seeing comparisons of models is hard to see with attachments too.

Very nice gift Alex, for some one who does not really collect Regular Wheel.

Re: Generous gift
That is a good point George. Went away and looked at my Matchbox collection and saw very few regular wheel models as I also do not really collect them so maybe another wrecker should come way...

Great model, any chance of posting a photo of the base Pete.
Re: Generous gift
Of course Pete, as you can see Joe glues the rivets so this could never fool anyone as a genuine prepro. Not that it is going anywhere, this will remain in my collection forever as a reminder of the friendships that this hobby brings.petethesweet wrote:Great model, any chance of posting a photo of the base Pete.

That’s true George, as you know Superfast was my thing as a child and that is my main focus as an adult collector, however I do collect the odd regular wheel model and I appreciate what this custom represents as one of the most sought after variations in Lesney Matchbox history. I mentioned to Joe a few years ago how much I liked the reverse wrecker and he must have remembered and made this for me. He really is a great guy.kerbside wrote:Very nice gift Alex, for some one who does not really collect Regular Wheel.

Indeed he is. Skilful and generous with his knowledge, we are lucky that he has not been tempted over to the Dark Side.motorman wrote:He really is a great guy.
