I'm not sure why the Facebook thread was locked. Seems to me that the thread took a radical turn of events as it diverged from a Facebook forum discussion into a photo hosting discussion. Would not it make more sense to break the one thread into two different threads/topics?

I don't think much more needs to be said about facebook. Those that don't like it will not enjoy keep seeing facebook presented to them on this nice clean forum and those that do like it have had their say.

The image posting side topic was not a problem and not the reason for locking the thread and as mentioned it was a bonus benefit.

If members want the thread unlocked then please say so here.

Those that like Facebook will go there, those that don't won't. Why do we need another discussion. This thread is totally unnecessary.

Perhaps I should be more direct about my point, no one is going to go to a thread about "Facebook" to get the news that you don't have to struggle to resize your photos anymore. I don't care that the thread is locked, I care that the positive news about easier posting/hosting of photos is buried in a locked thread that will all too soon drop off the radar.

Leave it with me and I'll split the image posts out into a new thread.

Hugh, can you create the new thread which in its title says what new members need...Posting Images To The Forum. Then put your resizing posts into it and later I will add the third party picture hosting method such as postimage etc.

On reflection, I don't think there's much to be gained by splitting the image posts out of the Facebook thread. (They'll simply clutter up any new topic.)
I have therefore started a clean topic here detailing how to post a picture on VBD.
Furthermore, I have discovered that by making it an Announcement (as opposed to Sticky), it is in a section of all its own at the head of The Lounge index page.
