facebook...
There is a word to conjure up a whole barn load of horrors!
There is no denying facebook has had a lot of bad press in the media and on the back of some of the stories, I had refused for a long time to get onto facebook. However, my model club commitments forced me to get involved with facebook and so treading gingerly around the platform and learning what goes where and why! it was clear facebook has its benefits, especially to collectors and enthusiasts of old vehicles etc.
A long lost railway I am interested in had a group on facebook but was rather dormant when I joined the group with no activity for several months, but after a message to the admin of the group about handing it over to me and I'll be come admin the creator of the group made me the moderator and over night the group transformed from a dusty old neglected ghost group into a thiving 200+ members hive of activity!
So, who would like the VBD to be on facebook with an official presence using the same title and header artwork you see above at the top of your screen.
Nick is already on facebook and I have at times had to use facebook to get message to him so I think we will have Nick's backing in this idea.
Now, forget all those earlier bad press stories about facebook, they have cleaned up their act in recent times and using facebook is so easy especially when it comes to posting pictures.
Like the forum, whoever creates a facebook page or group will automatically become the Admin who can then assign Moderator status to a member or members to oversee the running of the posts etc.
Our sister forum Mick Flack's Moyboyz enjoys having the forum and a facebook group with some members being involved with both while some facebook members are aware of the main forum they choose not to go any further than facebook partly due to how much easier it is to be posting on facebook.
With facebook you either love it or hate it. I was once a hater, but now I love it!
Ghosthunter.
