Re: ATM 33: 1918 Atkinson Steam Wagon "T. Varley"
The lumber load is pretty odd. Did they cut down the largest and oldest tree in the rain forest to get those two massive tree trunks?
I like the color options on these, not the best company logo (too modern) but great colors.

Re: ATM 33: 1918 Atkinson Steam Wagon "T. Varley"
I'd like to see the reference used for this livery. The only surviving Atkinson wagon was recovered from Australia by Tom Varley whose business was running a caravan park in Gisburn in Lancashire, England. Tom recovered many wagons from around the globe. The wagon the model is based on was built in 1918, the car body (Stutz) it's carrying is from 1931. So a wagon built in England, spent it's working life in Australia and is carrying an American sports car body.

It was a creative idea for a "load." I'm more bothered by the scale of the racer body than anything else. Artistic license comes into play I guess. Still love the colors though.YYS4BOB wrote:The wagon the model is based on was built in 1918, the car body (Stutz) it's carrying is from 1931. Ghosty,
This belongs in my collection not yours!
I've just checked and it's still here. No. 26 of 36, one of the first MCCD Club models I got from Dirk Schleuer. He's just offered me some models from the ATM series.
Back on topic, the Millennium Edition of the White Book lists the Bentley as 1:55 and the Atkinson 1:60....
