Corgi Juniors Mustangs

Corgi Juniors Mustangs were plentiful and come in a seemingly endless variety of variations. There are also frequent error cars and thrown together insolvency era cars in odd color combinations to add to the fun. My favorite error is the Montreal Expos car where one color of the Tampo printing is entirely missing. There are two main casting variations. The E-104 has the Mustang GT style hood scoop on the hood (bonnet.) The E-140 and its many variants has a smoothed hood (bonnet) so that Tampo printing can more easily applied. Late in production, a version with a jacked-up rear suspension and side pipes was issued, although the side pipes were quickly omitted part way through its run.

Corgi doing what Matchbox didn't quite manage...lots of colour issues and trim variations on the same casting.

i still have most of my juniors somewhere, definitely had fun collecting the variations back in the day at car boots as more common than lesney.

I know they had the side pipes. But I think you ar right about the Buick being the one that got jacked up. Mind is getting old I guess....

"Mind is getting old I guess.."
i ,m the same lol, last week my wife asked if i wanted my small pork pie,i said no,then changed my mind, later in the evening i saw a pork pie in the fridge and ate it thinking it was mine,so
even later my middle son went looking for his pork pie,and it had gone, well they never let me forget it now and its a bit of a running joke.
I remember the jacked up buick with silver side pipes and i think the xjs may have had them too although i don,t think i have one in my xjs collection, been a few years since i actively collected juniors. :D

Yeah, I'm now thinking I must be mixing memories of the Jaguar with the Mustang. I guess the Mustang never had them...

These days I wear my glasses on top of my head so that I can think more clearly.

This takes me right back guys!

I have a fair few Mustangs in storage, I had a feeling there is one with pipes, will see if I can get some photos...

Did pick a variation up a couple of months ago, difficult to kick the habit :)

And that's what I especially regret about the #44 RR. :(.
