Ironic that the Passenger Pigeon was long extinct when this was adopted as a logo and now the REA is long extinct.

I like the model. Did you make the decals yourself? I would love to hear the process you used to blank out the twin doors with the simulated roll up door.

I fondly remember the Railway Express Agency and the local office (next to my local passenger depot) staff was always very friendly and kind towards me as a railfan kid. Most people think UPS & Fed-X put them out of business. In reality it was the decline of passenger trains (as a mode of transport) that put them out to pasture.

The decals look like the one on the Budgie 57 Rea Express.

Yes, they are supposed to be for the Budgie. They came from `Black Square Decal`. I haven´t tried making decals by my self yet.

Sorry, no pictures from the process. When I´m in the "building fever", I forget do do pictures (from some projects I have). So, it was just some digging in the box with the leftovers frome some earlier projects, some epoxy glue, putty and a lot of filing and sanding. The spraying I do with rattle cans outside, as my work space is very limited. (less than 3 sqm ). I love to do "frankensteining" models. But after a demanding creation, I do some easy jobs with just a different paint, too.

Actually REA is unknown here in Germany. What I wonder about, is their slogan " Some carriers still cost less than REA". Maybe that´s the reason, they don´t exist anymore?

I really like that one too - the bigger wheels really suit it, and the back is fabulous. The Bedford TJ was a good looking small truck - lots of inspirational pictures on the internet for further versions! They normally had a lower roof than the Lomas ambulance conversion and look rather like an overgrown Morris Minor.

How do you like his decals?

I bought some from him a couple years ago and the Coke truck decals were all sized at about 2/3 of what they should be. He offered replacements on my next order but doubt he'll remember anything that far back. I found his decal film pretty thin and a little "testy" or fiddly. He says you can't over spray them with clear finishes or Dull Coat. I experimented with one of the too small coke decals and sure enough they react badly. So, I like some of his decal options, but wasn't happy with the order or the extra care and hassle of the thin film kinda turned me off. Wondering what other think?

Oh, I never had problems with his decals. I buy most of the decals from him. The´re kind of fiddly, but that´s what decals are
