Making a Purple 39b

I love this casting and they can be hard to find, people seem to cherish them even in rough condition. It needed a windshield and Flower's reproduction unit comes in clear plastic, so I had to mess around and tint the windscreen. The next problem is that it had the later interior with the white steering wheel. You just can't paint the wheel or switch it out for a red one because there is this "trough" or groove through the dashboard for the white steering wheel shaft to fold over into position. I had to modify the dash to close up that groove so I could use a red steering wheel. The only thing it lacks is silver trim. I had to order a new silver paint pen and I'm waiting for it to be delivered. If you can't afford a mint purple Pontiac, this is the next best thing.
The car started out as this yellow beater. In the second pic, you can see the groove in the dash that I had to get rid of and there's a pic from the same angle showing the modified dash now hosting the red steering wheel. A crimson base and SPW finish it off and it now makes the perfect budget filler.
