Alvis Stalwart meets Majorette Bernard

Post by Tinman »

I love the porthole windows on the Bernard. The Bernard's windows insert was damaged so i had to make some new ones from scratch. I also did a "white out" on the rear window. The Majorette needed new axles but all 10 wheels were in great condition. Grille was gray plastic and I gave it an upgrade.

I really like this one! I have an articulated Majorette Bernard in its original plastic box, kept carefully since I bought it in about 1974. Majorettes of this era were great - lovely models that were well-engineered too. I wish Matchbox had followed the same realistic path.

Very well engineered. The design of the grille insert holds the base onto the model. I only had the cab/chassis and wheels to work with - sent to me by a fellow collector.

I dug my Majorette Bernard articulated lorry out. The box is getting too fragile to open many more times!

This one must be from about 1975 or 1976.
