WOW! What a lovely colour mrmoko.

Why couldn't Lesney do that, it looks so classy, better than the Blue chosen for the full production models, in fact, the darkest blue versions of 69c do look better than the lighter blue examples, in my view.

Rolls-Royce car colours were predominately of dark shades and it was not until Barbara Cartland, (a famous female novelist) ordered a new white Silver Cloud in the early Sixties, did they offer light colours as standard issue, she actually claimed it was her, that got the company to make a white Rolls-Royce and when it was delivered, it was the only one around!

For any forum members wanting to copy your model, what is the colour you have used,

Regards,
GHOSTHUNTER.

Hi , Thanks , I like the colour better than the blue as well . Suits the interior and windscreen . The colour I thought was candy red but in fact the colour is called Red Anodized. These paints are a two part process with a ground coat of a fine silver/chrome metallic flake being applied first. Then the top coat of red anodized is applied . The more top coats the darker the colour. Gaz

Candy red is my favourite colour for diecasts!
This candy red had already been chosen for the hardtop version, the #24 so Lesney would likely want to change that colour to make this red #69 , which could look better with pre-pro ivory or later issue vanilla coloured seats! Colours that go well with these dried blood colour seats would generally be lighter - i can see why Lesney never used this colour for any other car seats!
