Model fire engine. Rare. V Large. K-94

Post by roger the dodger »

Please have a look at my model for sale. 8-)

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/313015062121

Its about time someone else can get pleasure from it. It has not been displayed in 35 yrs, and it should be. I don't have room enough at my house.
It is my ebay page. Thank you
Roger.

Is this the model which didn't quite make it into production because the old company folded?

Hello Hugh, Yes this is one of the largest models they attempted, but was abandoned due to the many problems during testing, like problems sealing the water tank inside, reliability of electrics and connections etc. It was upto an advanced stage too. As should be known not many about, never sold in shops either. I was lucky enough to work with an ex Matchbox designer who let me have it for a low fee. A while after the Rochford factory had closed down. He had a few various ones.

Maybe is would also have conflicted with the Corgi Airport Crash Truck

Maybe so, it's worth noting that this one from Corgi is a Chubb Pathfinder, the Matchbox one is a Mack Crash Tender, hence the differing number of wheels although they look fairly similar.

Nice bit of searching John. As many of the images are now defaced by photobucket I'll go and retrieve them and do some sort of updated thread posting.

Looks like the model did very well at auctionY You need to work on getting your transaction numbers up, the very low figure will hold back many bidders.
It might be time to start my "Bucket List."
