Y-2 Bentley China version Unthreaded Screw Hole

I am starting to go through the Macau/China models of the big collection we have been liquidating over the past couple of years. This is the Y-2 Bentley that is listed as "Scarce" in the Yesteryear book Millennium Edition, Blue, Made in China with threaded screw holes. However this one does not look like it ever had its screw hole threaded and a screw never came in contact with it. What do you think? I could not find a box for it so I am wondering if this was distributed in any other way where it was not screwed down. What do you think?

these were sold in plain white boxes in 1989-1990.
If I remember right there were about 14 different models of which the Bentley is most common.

A Y34 Cadillac was recently sold on Ebay.

and fetched 53 gap.

There was also a display made for the range, similar to Franklin Mint displays.

Actually the example shown had its own box as shown here.

The example mentioned by Marcel is a Macau model. The China base model is from 1990-91.

Thanks. I have not looked for an extra China window box for a Bentley as shown so that will be my next step. I was only looking for the larger boxes with the screw fittings.

I also have some extra plain white boxes but as you say those boxes read "Made in Macau".

I always appreciate all of the help I get on this board.

Thanks,
Bob

It was one of the "Chinese 6" models. Someone will know what the other 5 were, but they're outside my collecting parameters so off-hand I don't know.

Those are mentioned in 1 of the first pages of the white book (chapter section) but I am not at home at the moment until jan 4rd.

I have the Chinese Six set.
If I remember right those were sold in Poland at the time.
I have the original carton with those 6 models.
My set came via collector Mike Thomas.

The 'Chinese Six' models from July 1991 consist of...
Y-2 Bentley in blue.
Y-4 Duesenburg in silver.
Y-14 ERA in blue and yellow.
Y-19 Morris Van in BRASSO trim.
Y-22 Ford Model 'A' Van in Lyons & Cherry Blossom trim.
Each one in a 'J' (maroon window box).

This set was arranged for TESCO stores at around £40 per set.
