eBay Win - Some you lose!

Wasn't sure if I was going to share this but decided I'm over it now
On 4th August I won this for a couple of pounds from a UK seller (plus another model), not sure if genuine but thought it would be interesting to have a look at.
He did not ship overseas but that was no problem as I had my Mother's UK address to use.
5th August - "Hi, will just need the address in the UK for shipping to then will add your postage payment and send the invoice"
Duly sent UK address
12th August - received this message ...
Sorry I have had a eye infection so not been able to send orders out as not been able to see anything but will post out on Wednesday morning my next day off sorry again
Left it a while and when I next spoke to my Mother, asked if she had received a parcel - "No" was the reply. A few days later she phoned to say that she'd received a parcel and forwarded it on to me.
21st August - next message "Hi, can you tell if you have received your parcel yet please?"
22nd August - "Hi, if she hasn't can you ask her to check it please think I mixed yours up with another when I had my eye problem thanks Dean"
Replied that nothing had been received here in NZ but if I received the wrong parcel I would be happy to forward to intended recipient.
28th August - "Hi ya, sorry have been busy with work once u have it if I give you the address would you be able to forward it on for me please?"
Agreed to this and waited to here from seller - nothing came through so decided to open eBay non-arrival request to see if I could get seller's address (which I did). When I said that I could post parcel back to him he said not to use that address as he had moved!
5th September - "Hi Rodger, hello Sorry it has taken so long have had a problem with my PayPal and Wi-Fi plus working"
By now I was thinking this was not going to work out well In between his messages I was sending him requests to find out what was going on and progress.
7th September - seller sent through other buyers address but it was my Mother's address he sent to me (comical if not so sad).
8th September - "Right sorry of course"
8th September - forwarded parcel from my Mother arrived - checked and it wasn'y my models. Messaged seller and he sent through UK address of other buyer in Swinton so repacked and posted off to UK the next day.
11th September - "Have spoke to other buyer and has sent your parcel to your mother's address"
Left it a few days and contacted Mother - no parcel, then checked again a week later - no parcel.
Numerous messages sent to seller - no reply
9th October - Message from eBay This return is closed. View details Hi Rodger, The return for Vintage Matchbox King Size Guy Warrior Tractor Car Transporter K-8 has been closed.
I'm guessing that someone contacted him and told him that it was probably worth more than the couple of quid I paid and what followed was pure waffle. Disappointed? yes but at least I didn't lose a fortune - well not apart from postage fee to the other seller (at least someone will be happy). Tried further messages to seller but no reply. Thinking my next step will be to contact eBay, not sure how that will go if return is closed but hopefully I have a case for a non trade.
So if you see this transporter reappearing you'll have the back story.
