Juniors Packaging

Post by CORGICROSSEYED »

Spotted on Ebay a type a packaging I haven't noticed before.

First this No. 23 Loadmaster Shovel

I thought it was a home made card as the model looks like a No. 48 Growlers Shovel Loader.
Can't see a date on the card but the seller records it as 1968 which seems too early.

But then I saw two more and they are all getting strong bids. Some currently at £51
Which makes me wonder.

No. 47 Scammell Concrete

& No. 74 Bertone Barchetta

Are they really in original packaging?
Has anyone seen these before?

Possibly prototype packaging. The lettering looks hand-made. Without more background info, it would be impossible to verify if these are factory design prototypes or created by someone else.

Thanks Bill. You may be right. They could be prototypes.
They sold for a decent amount, £56.55, £87.00 & £77.00 respectively, so the bidders seemed to think so.

I managed to get a closer look at the back of one.

The seller is reputable and another clue to them being prototypes was that there were quite a few Volkswagen Polo colour trials listed at the same time.

Again, they sold for decent amounts.

Curious to have this confirmed.

Seeing the back does suggest factory sourced and a very protoye build look about it. I went to 'Little Wheels' some time ago and can vouch for Andrew Woods's approach to his sourcing of models and they would have brought a collection 'As Is' with these included.

I agree about the prices revealing their possible true status.
