Dr Jeep's eBay finds

Unusually I've found quite a bit on eBay this week. Here are a couple of interesting finds, and there are two more in the post, though as one is coming from Spain it may take a while.

The 41a D-type was a buy-it-now for £10.99 including postage. It had been on for about an hour when I saw it. It's a good upgrade on the one without decal rings I already had, and it has the early base first shown by Jason earlier this year

I bought the 21d Foden concrete truck because the cab looked pale yellow in the pictures. It's certainly more yellow than the later version, but not as light as the Superfast.

I think it's probably in the normal range of colours for this model, but it's a decent example of Nick's code 1 or Bert's code 2 - steel pin for the mixer drum, no hole in the base, no axle braces on the chassis. I think these are fairly scarce though not particularly sought after!

Thanks, Rob.

Here are the next two from the same week. The Fruehauf was poorly listed (under a category for transportation collectables) so no one else spotted it. It's not perfect but it's an early version in its original box.

The next took 15 days from the date it was dispatched to arrival. No idea where it went, but it was worth the wait.

It's almost perfect, but here's the reason I bought it:

It's the scarce early base without inverted commas round Matchbox. This one is base 1. I also have base 4 like this. Only a handful have ever been shown on here, though another, also with base 1, sold last week for £10 plus postage. That one was pretty battered, so I'm pleased with this one.

Still one more to come, but it's on its way from Spain so there may be some delay!

It's the first version of the K-7 Refuse Truck, with a red hydrosleeve. It's in pretty good shape except for a large chip on the front of the cab roof.

Here's another one I found on eBay, with a lovely clear photo that showed me exactly what I was getting. No one else seems to have spotted it!

Very nice Glenn, I know of a few of these. I wonder how many are about because it's one of those that's very easy to overlook.

Thanks!

This one has a very early - possibly preproduction - base without R after Matchbox. There aren't too many of these around, though as John says it's easily overlooked. Here it is with the more common base.
