Re: Do PM's work?
Hi Dan,
I've been wondering about this. I received a PM a couple or three weeks ago, sent off a reply, but never heard anything back - not sure whether the message I sent was ever delivered, whether the person PMed me back (could simply be he didn't and that is cool, but I have no way of knowing if my message was ever received). I haven't had an error message from Chrome, but do wonder if there is a problem whether it is something to do with the Chrome browser?
Cheers,
Gavin

I had a few teething problems at the beginning but mine are working ok now although I don't use Chrome, I use ie. As far as I know, the messages sit in your outbox until the receipient logs in, but I'm not sure if they have to go into their messages for them to be delivered or whether just logging in is enough to pull the messages through.

Let's hope it works (hey you know what they say about people who talk to themselves, but sending messages to yourself, well that's a different leagueBrad Pittiful wrote:hey guy i decided to send myself a pm...it worked...then i sent one to kwakers who i wanted to send originally...hopefully he got it

I use windows live and all of the mail from the forum automatically gets put in to my junk folder. so this could explain why you are not getting any replies.

Re: Do PM's work?
Hello Brad, kwakers here. I did just see your message a couple of days ago, and I was waiting for an update from my workplace to answer. It seems my Lorry and I may be able to get back to work next week if the government approves a couple of our transport permits needed to pick up Tyres (LOL). I laugh because of both Tyres, and the fact that now the world revolves around appointed bureaucrats allowing us to work. It used to be their existence was granted by us voting them in, but not any more! We now cannot move without their licenses, permits, and a Great mass of paperwork necessary on our part to even conduct every day life. Enough crying for this A.M.
I enjoyed a few days away the last three weeks at the Carlisle and Hershey Car Show and Flea markets down in Pennsylvania. I bought five Great regular wheels at the Carlisle Show, two of them being number 49 Halftracks that are not on Nick's guide site at all. I did get to see a few overpriced Lesneys at Hershey, but the rust from all those antique car parts seemed to blur my vision of their details. The Hershey Flea Market is so large, one would walk 26 miles just to pass by every Seller's booth without even entering to look over their wares. Visiting 9000 spaces is a bit of a challenge, but one we car people look forward to every year. They were expecting over 1000 cars in the car corral for sale that week, and 1,300 different vehicles on the show field during Saturday's judged event. We were 'rained out' on Friday with torrential downpours that allowed only the heartiest among us to sell and buy (And of course Me, my old ladies' cart, my rain gear and my umbrella. And no, it is not Mrs. kwaker's cart if any were wondering), so I would say the event for Saturday's beautiful weather suffered a bit. They perhaps only had about 900 cars for us to enjoy that day, making it perhaps the smallest field in the last several years at Hershey. Our family has attended with three generations of kwakers now, and a yearly vacation is always centered around this week of renewing old friendships. Every family should enjoy one week in heaven a year, and this is as close as it comes for ours.
As for PMs to yourself Brad, I will try and answer more timely if I can to avoid your having to resort to such extreme measures. A bit of advice Brad: I find a good argument with myself (over anything) early in the morning helps a bit as you age! LOL Cheers, kwakers

I was aware of the Matchbox event in Hershey every year, at the car museum or whatever it is... (I've never been, and the last one was in September, so I guess I'll have to wait another year), but these Carlisle/Hershey car shows and flea markets are news to me. I'm in central PA, so it wouldn't be hard for me to get down there to see them. What source do you use to know when and where these events are scheduled? If you've got a web link or some other way for me to find out, I'd really appreciate it!
Hope all is well and thanks,
Alan
