Cirencester 25 August 2019

Post by DrJeep »

Over the years I've found lots of good things at Cirencester. There was plenty there yesterday, including sellers I haven't seen before, but I didn't find very much, though everything I bought was very cheap. Perhaps I'm getting too picky...

The amber-windowed Dodge is even worse than it looks in this picture, though it has kept most of its light. It's the second version, with a textured bed and text on the base. The Douglas and Hoveringham are the common versions, but in good condition. The best is the Benbros Scout Car - £2 with a bent axle that straightened quite easily.

This is another really good Benbros casting. This is the later version with the oddly-shaped cast-in driver. The earlier version has a much nicer, loose driver. Unfortunately this means that drivers are usually absent. I've had this almost-perfect early model for a while.

A nice day out ! Even though the Amber windowed truck is beaten up, you still don't see many

thanks, Rob. They are pretty scarce. I'll probably pass this one on, if anyone's interested - though it really is very poor, with broken bumper ends (so that's why the braces were added!).
