I have had the Crescent fire engine for a while but recently acquired the poorly plastic SLIKKA TOYS version (thank you for the gift Gary Galvin)
I have not heard of them before other than a brief remark by Robert Newson which unfortunately didn't give much away
Questions are, are there other crescent cross overs with similar moving parts, and were they a cheaper/budget alternative to the crescent range
Lastly does anyone have the 2 seated firemen for the crescent engine they would be willing to part with

Re: DCMT fire engine
SLIKKA TOYS was actually the first recorded 'Brand' name used by DCMT as it was pointed out that while DCMT were the parent company doing the casting, for marketing purposes you ideally needed a name for the items much in the same way as Mettoy using the brand name of Corgi.
Slikka Playthings was used within the adverts (again emulating Mettoy Playthings) and a number of very diverse items were made such as miniature wood working tools but as you can see the toys displayed SLIKKA TOY. It was not in use for very long due to the introduction of Lone Star Cap Guns which became a huge success and were responsible for the adoption of Lone Star becoming the main brand name and eventually the parent company name.
The SLIKKA name got onto very few vehicles the Fire Engine and the Jaguar are known so far.

Re: DCMT fire engine
They sort of post-date the Crescents as several Crescent toys were remade as Slikka items.
