Deals and VBD

Post by Idris »

Just a reminder to one and all that VBD is a third-party to any deals struck using this Forum. As such, VBD cannot be held responsible in any way should a deal turn sour. VBD is not liable for any loss or damages, however cincurred, and VBD will not make any attempts at mediation or resolution of any disputes, irrespective of their nature, much less reimburse or compensate the injured party.
Unless compelling evidence is provided, VBD will not undertake any disciplinary measures against the alleged defaulting party.
Claims and counter-claims posted on VBD are subject to English & Welsh libel law and will be reviewed in that light. Insufficiently-supported statements will be deleted and repeated posting of unacceptable text will result in a warning or a (temporary) ban.
Here endeth the lesson.

No particular trigger, just something I thought needed stating, prevention always being better than cure.

My understanding is that, technically, there's no such thing as English law, the correct term being English & Welsh law. Edward I made a start on dismantling Welsh laws with the Statute of Rhuddlan in 1282, but the two systems were not fully harmonised until the Laws in Wales Acts of 1535 and 1542. Although Scotland joined the Union in 1707, she has retained her own legal system to this day (which could come in handy when she regains her independence and I can get an EU passport again). I have no idea about N. Irish law.
