This Morestone Covered Wagon was not really played with much, but sat on the window sill of a family recreation room. The horses are all accounted for and undamaged, and both barrels are present. Only thing missing is the driver. Does anyone know if there is a repro available?

I also just noticed that there is a small hole in the floorboard. Is there supposed to be a whip or brake lever as well? Thanks for any help. Bob

Yes, I looked at Nick Martin's site and saw that I should have a driver and a whip. So.........are repro's available?

Also, Nick says that the barrels are always green or unpainted. The one's on my wagon are painted metallic copper. Do I have a rare or perhaps early variation? These toys will drive a guy up the wall sometimes! Thanks for any help.

Modelcarparts.com makes a replacement driver and the hoops to hold up the wagon's top, as far as I know, no one makes a replacement whip.

Replacement barrels are available from numerous sources, all are plastic or white metal. It's possible that someone already obtained replacement barrels and painted them in whatever color they had on hand. I'm not qualified to answer questions about factory supplied barrels in any colors other than green.

Thanks for your comments Tinman. I searched modelcarparts site, and did not find any reference at all to any Morestone repro parts. However, Nick was able to come up with an original driver, and of course I surely prefer an original rather than repro, so I am in business as far as a driver. Still need a whip.

This model has been in my possession since purchased new in the 1950's. I know I did not paint the barrels, I do not think that either my parents would have painted them, and I am an only child, so I am 99% certain that they came that way.
Not sure if this hobby adds anything to the advancement of civilization, or the goal of world peace, but it is interesting!

You have to do a little detective work with some sites, the parts are listed under "Budgie."

As I said, I was able to obtain an original driver from Nick. I will keep an eye on ModelCarParts though; perhaps they will list the whip in the future. If anyone has a whip and a 3D printer to copy it, I would even be grateful for a plastic one.

The more I think about it, it is possible that my barrels were originally bare instead of painted green, and so I perhaps I did paint them with the copper paint. I now have trouble remembering what I did an hour ago, so there is no way for me to remember what I may have done over 60 years ago. Nick will post the pics on his site, and we will see what sort of comments it generates.

If you cant find a whip, as a make-do there are plenty of Britains and Timpo figures that had whips, maybe have a search on ebay and you might be able to find something you can adapt. Not sure of the scales though.
