Hi all, did anybody see the Red Victor come off at the weekend , some of the worse photos i have ever seen. I Emailed the seller a couple of times for any clearer photos & picture of base & where did you get it from. He posted some extra photos of the base but said his camera couldn't take any better photos. The model came from Sandown, just heard it was a fake. Glad none of our members brought it Pete.

Yes, I spotted that one. He put it on earlier in the evening at £800, then cancelled that and relisted it at a slightly higher price. All very odd.

Hi All, i can remember seeing the Red Victor at Sandown about four years ago, the chap wanted £1500, that rung bells when i had it in my hand the paint looked too thick, no signs of any wear. Pete.

He is never going to sell models with such awful pictures and you have to ask yourself, why are you called 'dinkyworld' with only three dinky toys for sale and one matchbox which just happens to be a very rare matchbox....!!!

So what about this then...https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Matchbox-Les ... 0037.m2107

Damaged boot lid from underneath as if pressure has been applied to do something with the rivet.
Convienient dirt around the rear rivet, but why? and lots of paint chips because these rarely come up for sale in factory mint condition!

All suggesting...??

The rear rivets on these red Victors do tend to release because they are slightly too short. It is my contention that this is use to a late design change to the baseplate in the form of the addition of the reinforcement platform around the rivet hole (which thereby thickened the baseplate in that area, so making the rivet too short). It is therefore entirely possible that an attempt has been made to resecure the baseplate and this has resulted to the observed damage to the boot lid.
Having said that, the way the rivet head is obscured is extremely suspicious...
